Grinder #1, Mt Tampalpais

Meet at 9:30 am at Sports Basement, 610 Mason Street (at Crissy Fiedl), San Francisco. 50 miles, 4,400'
Just north of San Francisco's Golden Gate is Mount Tamalpais. It has redwood groves and oak woodlands with a spectacular view from the 2,571' peak. The main climb is 1,550' in 4.5 miles. Average grade is 7.4% and maximum grade is 15%. From the summit of Mt. Tam, you can see the Farallon Islands 25 miles out to sea, the Marin County hills, San Francisco and the bay, hills and cities of the East Bay, and Mount Diablo.
This is an out and back ride. There will be several regrouping spots with a snack break at a store. We will bring copies of route sheet and map. Bring money, jacket and cycling food. Be prepared for cooler weather in the North Bay.
