Level 1 Events

This page provides information about Level 1 events, racing goals, and plans for the team. We also post tips about what to expect at triathlon events and how to prepare for race day.

Level 1 Racing Goals for 2010

The Level 1 seasonal plan is the same as the full Team Sheeper plan, only scaled back to goals appropriate for our group. The year is divided into two halves with two separate goals for the year, each preceded by gradual increase in training and skill. All events are optional, but they provide team focus, motivation, and structure for the weeks of training — we teach you how to prepare for triathlon by doing it!

Other Events for Level 1

Team Sheeper has many internal events throughout the year, and Level 1 will participate in many of them. You can check out the full array of team activities and internal challenges on the Team Events page.

For example, if you consider the Grinder Series in the late summer, you'll see that the team rides bikes up some of the tallest peaks in the Bay Area. Level 1 may participate in the Grinder Series, but the challenge will be scaled back to a reasonable level, maybe to half the distance or something more appropriate (but still challenging!) for our skills and fitness.
