Epic Ride

In this edition:

Epic Ride 2010

The Epic Ride today was glorious.  The weather was in the mid 70's the winds were mild, spring is in full bloom, and vehicle traffic was non-existent. (I just finished and I have aerobic euphoria).

The Saturday Epic
-Will begin tomorrow at 6:30am, groups will leave about every 30 minutes after that
-Maps will be available in the morning
-Meet for the ride start in Tennis court parking lot behind the pool (not our normal parking lot)
-It will be dark so if you are beginning, early bring lighting
-We do have a sag driver for Saturday
-Sag is to be used for support and emergencies
-We will stop in Felton at the New Leaf Market for lunch
-Attempt to leave Felton as close to noon as possible
-Felton to Menlo Park is roughly 4 hours and the most challenging riding of the day
-Leave some power in the legs
-It will be warm, so keep your mind on hydration
-Prepare to take in 200-300 calories per hour in fuel
-Caution on all the descents, they are all very aggressive
-Attempt to arrive at Burgess between 3:30-4:00pm
-Pasta will be available at the finish
-Pace yourself, so you can ride Skyline strong
-Bringing a friend is discouraged, but if you do you are responsible for the well being and safety at all times and are expected to ride alongside them the entire way. 
-Only begin the ride if you feel you are prepared and ready to take on a challenge
-Be prepared to be on the bike for 7-9 hours
-We will all hang-out and enjoy the ride recap on the Burgess Patio post ride.
-Hani will lead the Ep ride at 8:30am.  Destination San Gregorio.


 The Sunday Epic
-Will begin at 6:30am
-No Sag available on Sunday
-Same course as Friday and Saturday
-Lunch in Felton
-No pasta at the finish
-No-frills-keep-your-head-down-and-get-it-done-early-ride.
